Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons to primary students following Cambridge International and Vietnamese national curriculum standards.
- Use diverse and inclusive teaching strategies to meet a variety of learning needs and abilities.
- Design, implement, and assess formative and summative assignments; provide feedback that supports student development.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment which upholds VAS’s values of respect, participation, and kindness.
- Collaborate with year group and subject teachers to plan curriculum, share resources, and continually develop teaching practice.
- Take part in school-wide events, extra-curricular activities, and enrichment opportunities for primary learners.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians about student progress and wellbeing.
- Lead or support at least one (1) extra-curricular club or enrichment activity weekly as required by the school.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven Classroom Skills: Demonstrated expertise in delivering lively, age-appropriate lessons using a variety of methods and technology.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a relevant subject, plus a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Primary Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of international primary frameworks, with a commitment to child-centred and inclusive learning.
Personal Qualities and Professional Commitment
- Cultural Awareness: Respect for diversity and openness to working within an international setting and school community.
- Passion and Dedication: Genuine interest in supporting children’s growth, and a motivation to contribute positively to school life in Vietnam.
- Collaboration and Communication: Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with an ability to engage effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
- Reflective Practice: Commitment to ongoing learning, self-improvement, and adapting to new educational approaches.
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Primary Education or relevant subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent).
- At least two years’ recent experience teaching primary school aged children in an school setting.
- Good ICT skills and enthusiasm for integrating technology in classroom learning.
