Main Responsibilities: English Teaching in the Secondary School Setting
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the Cambridge International Curriculum and Vietnamese national standards.
Adapt teaching methods and assessment to suit a range of student backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles.
Develop and evaluate formative and summative assessments; provide clear, constructive feedback to encourage student progress.
Promote a supportive, inclusive, and respectful classroom climate that reflects the VAS values of respect, participation, and excellence.
Collaborate with colleagues across subject and year groups to share best practice and foster interdisciplinary learning.
Contribute to school-life through participation in school events, projects, and extra-curricular activities relevant to secondary students.
Maintain clear and professional communication with parents and carers regarding student achievements and wellbeing.
Lead or assist in at least one extra-curricular activity or club each week, as part of your teaching role.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven Classroom Skills: Demonstrated experience as an English Teachers' Assistant in a school setting.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in English Language Teaching, English Linguistics, or English Literature; plus a pedagogical methodology certificate (issued by a university)
Curriculum Expertise: Strong understanding of international secondary English frameworks and effective, inclusive classroom practice.
Personal Qualities and Professional Commitment
Cultural Sensitivity: Respectful, adaptable attitude towards working in an international school community.
Passion for English Education: Genuine interest in motivating secondary students and making a positive impact in Vietnam.
Collaboration and Communication: Skilled in building relationships with students, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Reflective and Growth-Oriented: Commitment to self-improvement, learning new approaches, and contributing to a learning culture.
Essential Criteria
Bachelor’s degree or higher in English Language Teaching, English Linguistics, or English Literature.
A pedagogical methodology certificate (issued by a university)
Minimum two years’ recent experience teaching English at secondary school level.
Excellent ICT skills and enthusiasm for integrating technology into English learning.
