Key Responsibilities: Secondary Science Teaching Role
- Deliver engaging, inquiry-based Science lessons to secondary students aligned with the Cambridge International and Vietnamese national curriculum frameworks.
- Utilise a range of effective teaching strategies to cater to students’ varying learning styles and abilities.
- Design and implement formative and summative assessments, providing feedback that enables student growth and achievement in Science.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment reflecting VAS’s values and encouraging excellent student conduct and participation.
- Collaborate with Science department colleagues on curriculum planning, resource development, and sharing of best practices.
- Participate fully in the wider school community, including extracurricular clubs, events, and science-focused enrichment activities.
- Liaise respectfully with parents and carers, keeping them informed of student progress and wellbeing.
- Run at least one (1) Extra-Curricular Activity weekly as needed by your campus.
Ideal Candidate Profile: Skills and Science Teaching Competencies
- Proven Pedagogical Skills: Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality Science instruction using a broad range of classroom techniques.
- Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree or above in Science (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science) or Education, with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Secondary Science Curriculum Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of secondary-level Science content and current educational best practice. Ability to inspire interest in STEM subjects.

- Cultural Understanding: Respect for diverse backgrounds, openness to working in a new environment, and willingness to be part of our school community.

Essential Criteria for Secondary Science Teachers
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Science subject, Science Education, or closely related field.
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent international certification).
- At least two years’ recent experience teaching Science to secondary students in a school setting.
- Strong technology skills and a readiness to integrate ICT in Science teaching and learning.
