Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to secondary students, aligned with both the Cambridge International and Vietnamese national curriculum objectives.
• Demonstrate strong pedagogical competence, employing a broad toolkit of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning needs.
• Design and implement formative and summative assessments, offering constructive feedback to support continued student growth and achievement.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and positive classroom culture that reflects VAS’s core values and encourages high standards of behaviour.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop subject curriculum, share best practices, and participate in ongoing professional learning.
• Engage actively in all aspects of school life, including extracurricular activities, clubs, and community events.
• Liaise with parents and carers, providing timely, accurate information about student progress and well-being.
• Deliver at least one (1) Extra-Curricular Activity per week (based on campus needs).

Candidate profile: Skills and abilities

• Pedagogical Competence: Proven ability to deliver high-quality instruction using a variety of effective teaching strategies.
• Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in English, Education or a related field, with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent). Previous experience teaching English at the secondary level, ideally in an international or bilingual context.
• Subject Knowledge: Deep and up-to-date understanding of English language and literature curricula and assessment. Able to inspire a genuine interest in the subject among students.

• Motivation and Commitment: Genuine interest in contributing to the VAS community and in living and working in Vietnam long-term.

Essential requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, English Education, or a closely related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent international certification).
• Minimum of two years’ recent experience teaching English to secondary students in a school setting.
• Strong ICT skills and willingness to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
