What will you do?
As an Academic Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the curriculum development and quality assurance processes across all campuses. This role requires strong leadership and teamwork skills to ensure effective communication, strategic planning, and continual improvement in teaching and learning. You will also play a key role in professional development, data analysis, and resource management, ensuring alignment with the company’s values and goals.
Curriculum & Quality Assurance
• Coordinate the planning, implementation, review, and production of the subject’s curriculum and schemes of work within the framework of the Cambridge curriculum.
• Produce assessments for all campuses that are appropriate to each course of study, ensuring that assessment is both regular and thorough, and that full records are kept in accordance with the school’s assessment policy.
• Analyze examination results and other key student data points, prepare stakeholder-specific/appropriate reports, and cascade information to those stakeholders through relevant and applicable channels.
• Identify strategic priorities for development within the curriculum and/or associated grades. Work with campuses to implement agreed company strategic goals in these areas.
• Produce and update curriculum policies and strategic plans related to the subject.
• Prepare and deliver effective professional development training that supports the development of individuals/groups or identified strategic priorities within the subject or phase.
• Actively participate in the regular monitoring and quality assurance of the curriculum across all campuses.
• Participate in annual budget planning and work with procurement to ensure the subject/phase is fully resourced within the parameters of the agreed budget.
• Through facilitating the sharing of resources and ‘best practice’, establish a culture of continual improvement in teaching and learning in the subject/phase.
• Ensure effective communication, and chair regular meetings relating to the subject/phase across all campuses.
• Keep abreast of new developments in content and teaching strategies, including the use of innovative technologies (e.g., Artificial Intelligence [AI]) within the subject/ phase.
• Interview support for subject-specific teaching recruitment as requested by campus management and/or per company recruitment practice.
• Support other group subject coordinators in their roles as a member of the CAD.
• Actively participate in admissions and marketing events as required.
• Other duties, as directed by the Central Academic Director which support the development and integration of best practice in the subject/phase.
Teaching
• Includes a teaching load up to 40% of the total working load, which may be a fixed schedule, substitution, or a combination of both.
Other Duties
• Participate in Parent/Teacher meetings, school events, graduation ceremonies, and other public events.
• Attend professional conferences, seminars, and workshops.
• Deliver presentations on behalf of the Company as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the Line Manager and the Academic Leadership Team.
Your background and experience
This is a certified Academic Manager position that requires you to have a recognised teaching qualification in Early Childhood Education or Teaching English.
Please note that you must have the following qualifications to be considered:
- Bachelors or Masters in Early Childhood Education or
- Bachelors or Masters in English Language Teaching or
- Bacherlors/ Masters in English Linguistics and a teaching qualification from a university.
This position is not open to candidates without the above qualifications. We will not be able to consider applicants with non-education degrees and a TEFL/TESOL qualification.
Furthermore, we are looking for a teacher who:
- Is a Vietnamese candidate with near-native English proficiency
- Has minimum of 2 years of experience in an EYFS or international early years curriculum setting (Candidates with only MOET Vietnamese kindergarten experience may still apply, but a strong understanding of the international early years curriculum is essential for this role.)
- Has a strong curiosity about learning about other cultures and working with diverse people
- Has a genuine interest in the field of Early Years Foundation from both a pedagogical and theoretical perspective
- Display an open mindset and ability to develop efficient student and parent relationships
- Shows a willingness to embrace our VAS core values
- Has real enthusiasm for their subject and a commitment to teaching
- Believes that early years education plays an important role in the development of students’ skills, knowledge, and understanding
- Recognises the value of learning beyond the classroom in enhancing the understanding and experience of the world in which we live
- Is a team player, with a ‘can do’ solution-focused attitude
- Possesses outstanding communication skills and personal integrity
Benefits
Teacher benefits at VAS consist of a competitive salary, tuition waiver for up to two children, up to 6 weeks of paid holidays, and more. You can expect to teach an average of 23 teaching hours per week, plus 3 hours per month allocated to substitute teaching. In addition, you will have a generous amount of non-contact time for planning, preparation, and professional growth.
