Summer Camp English Intensive Teacher (Expat)
Overview
Summer English Intensive Teachers are responsible for the implementation of a fun and educational English Intensive Curriculum. The position will involve delivering high quality, well planned English lessons. Teachers are expected to monitor the progress of students over the summer, provide intervention if needed, and prepare students to re-sit the Placement Test for the C.A.P. Programme.
What you will do?
- Provide an organized, disciplined and stimulating environment for students’ learning both inside and outside the classroom.
- Provide proper, accurate and timely assessments for student learning, prepare data and accurate feedback/reports for parents and complete the summer parent communication logs.
- Meet weekly with the English Intensive Coordinator and Site Director to ensure objectives of the programme are met.
- Observe student behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior management techniques
- Promote a positive, confident and fun multicultural classroom environment
- Encourage and enforce an English-speaking environment for all students
- Other related duties assigned by the Head of the Summer Programme / English Intensive Coordinator from time to time
- Assist students to rehearse and prepare for the Summer Fair Performances as well as participate in the staff performance at the Summer Fair
- Actively Engage with the Weekly Assemblies, Summer Camp Programme and Summer Fair
Your background and experience
General requirements
- University degree holder
- PGCE (or equivalent) or teaching license from your own country
- Demonstrated experience in working with children
- Ability to teach and lead various recreational activities
- Cheerful personality, team-oriented and adaptable
- Ability to communicate and work with a variety of age and skill levels
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
- Professional, adaptable, team-oriented, patient and enthusiastic
- Available for pre programme training 3 - 7 June 2024
- Available 7:00am-5:00pm, Monday – Friday from June 10 through July 19, 2024. You may be required to stay beyond the standard working hours for staff meetings once a week and be available to participate in the Summer Camp Fair Event on Saturday, 13 July 2024
- Teachers assigned to classes only in G5 – G10 will finish after the Summer Fair on Saturday, July 13, 2024

Note regarding COVID-19 and vaccinations
