Summer Camp English Teaching Assistant (Starting June 2024)
Summer Teachers Assistants are responsible for supporting the implementation of a fun and educational 6-week Curriculum within the English Intensive or Kindergarten Programme. The position will involve supporting the delivery of high quality, well-planned lessons and key administrative duties.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tutor and assist students individually or in small groups in order to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers;
- Help teachers or school with recordkeeping, messages and communications to parents in student handbooks, marking and correcting work, and general administrative support tasks;
- Plan and assist teachers in preparing materials and supplies in advance for lessons / activities;
- Assist teachers to implement the developmental assessment for students to determine their strengths and areas for improvement;
- Conduct lessons in case of teachers’ absence when required;
- Provide an organized, disciplined and stimulating environment for students’ learning both inside and outside the classroom;
- Observe student behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior management techniques;
- Support in implementing the curriculum, prepare and deliver instructional activities and follow lesson plans;
- Assist in adapting lesson plans if necessary to suit the class or student’s skill level;
- Meet with Site Director and/or Head of Summer Programme if called upon in support meetings;
- Promote a positive, confident and fun multicultural classroom environment;
- Encourage and enforce an English-speaking environment for all students;
- Other related duties assigned by the Head of the Summer Programme / English Intensive / Kindergarten Coordinator from time to time;
- Assist students to prepare and rehearse for the Summer Fair Performance
- Actively Engage with the Summer Camp Programme and Summer Fair.
Qualifications & Experience:
- University degree holder
- Sound expertise and skills in the area of specialization
- Demonstrated experience in working with children
- Professional, adaptable, team-oriented, patient and enthusiastic
- Ability to communicate and work with a variety of age and skill levels
- Available for pre-programme training 3 - 7 June 2024.
- Available 7:00am-5:00pm, Monday – Friday from June 10 through July 19, 2023. You may be required to stay beyond the standard working hours for staff meetings once a week and be available to participate in the Summer Camp Fair Event on 13 July 2024.
