Summer Camp Staff [English Intensive Teacher, Kindergarten Teacher, Counsellor, and Teacher's Assistant

VAS is looking for numerous enthusiastic teachers who would like to join our 6-week 2019 Summer Camp running from 3rd June to July 20th. We have positions open for both expatriate and Vietnamese candidates. 

 

1. English Intensive Teacher.

  • Implement the curriculum, prepare and deliver instructional activities and create lesson plans that may need to be modified accordingly throughout the course.
  • Provide an organized, disciplined and stimulating environment for students’ learning both inside and outside the classroom. 
  • Provide proper, accurate and timely assessments for student learning, prepare data and accurate feedback/reports for parents and complete the summer parent communication logs.
  • Meet weekly with the English Intensive Coordinator and Site Director to ensure objectives of the programme are met
  • Observe student behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior management techniques

2. Kindergarten Teacher

  • Carry out the summer camp activities planned by the Specialists and Content Developers. Pre – Plan lessons, adapt and give feedback about the activities
  • Set a good example for campers in all areas, including cleanliness, punctuality, sportsmanship, and respect for each other as well as personal and school property
  • Observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior management techniques
  • Communicate with parents about participant’s experiences and meet/communicate regularly with Site Director regarding concerns, updates, challenges
  • Assist in maintaining accurate programme records including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance

3. Counsellor (expat candidates only)

  • Ability in one or more of the following area (s): Swimming, Water Sports, Arts & Crafts, Theatre, STEM, Dance or Cooking
  • Carry out the summer camp activities planned by the Specialists and Content Developers
  • Pre – Plan lessons, adapt and give feedback about the activities
  • Recognize and respond to opportunities for group problem solving
  • Set a good example for campers in all areas, including cleanliness, punctuality, sportsmanship, and respect for each other as well as personal and school property
  • Observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior management techniques
  • Communicate with parents about participant’s experiences and meet/communicate regularly with Site Director regarding concerns, updates, challenges
  • Assist in maintaining accurate programme records including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance

4. Teaching Assistant (open for Vietnamese candidates only)

  • Be a positive role model for campers; Ensure positive attitude, behavior and interaction with campers at all times
  • Assist and actively participate with the camp counsellors in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers for all activities
  • Lead classroom sessions on journal entries for students within their assigned class, introduce camp songs and take an active role during weekly assemblies
  • Communicate with parents when required and support the counsellor by sharing information
  • Assist in the teaching of camp activities and organizing camp events
  • Monitor equipment and facilities to ensure proper use, care, and maintenance is adhered to; report repairs needed promptly to head counselor or camp director

Your background and experience:

  • University degree holder
  • CELTA / DELTA Certified is preferred for any position (not required for Teacher's Assistant), TEFL could be sufficient Kindergarten Teacher.
  • Sound expertise and skills in the area of specialization (such as English, kindergarten, or early primary level experience)
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children
  • Professional, adaptable, team-oriented, patient and enthusiastic
  • Ability to communicate and work with a variety of age and skill levels

  • Available for training sessions from 3 – 7 June 2019.
  • Available 7:30am-4:30pm, Monday – Friday from June 3 through July 19, 2019. You will be required to stay beyond the standard working hours for staff meetings once a week and be available to participate in the Summer Camp Fair Event on 13 July 2019
